Audi Scrap and Salvage Prices by Model
Updated: February 2026
Audi scrap values range from GBP 140 for an early A1 to GBP 430 for a Q7 or e-tron. The Audi A3 averages GBP 177 for scrap according to national collector data, with the A4 averaging GBP 206. Salvage values are 40% to 80% higher than scrap when the engine and gearbox are intact. RS and S models carry the highest salvage premiums due to strong used parts demand. Audi sits above the market average for scrap value thanks to the VAG group’s use of aluminium body panels, high-specification alloy components, and above-average catalytic converter precious metal loadings. The A8 uses an all-aluminium spaceframe body, which significantly increases its metal value at the ATF.
Model | Weight kg | Scrap GBP | Salvage GBP | Key Value Driver |
A1 8X/GB | 1,080 | 140-220 | 250-390 | DSG mechatronic parts in demand. Lightweight but strong parts salvage from newer GB generation. |
A3 8P/8V/8Y | 1,270 | 155-280 | 290-480 | Most scrapped Audi in the UK at 35% of all Audi scrap volumes. High parts demand from independent VAG specialists. |
A4 B8/B9 | 1,450 | 185-310 | 340-520 | Second most scrapped Audi at 35%. EA888 engine and ZF 8-speed gearbox attract strong salvage offers when intact. |
A6 C7/C8 | 1,660 | 220-355 | 400-610 | Third most scrapped Audi at 12% of volumes. 3.0 TDI biturbo variants command strong salvage premiums. |
Q3/Q5 F3/FY | 1,520-1,890 | 200-380 | 370-640 | Q5 with quattro transfer case parts sought after by 4x4 specialists. Strong demand from independent Audi breakers. |
Q7/Q8 4M/4MN | 2,075-2,330 | 290-430 | 520-780 | Heaviest Audi models with highest base scrap value. Air suspension components and 3.0 TDI engines fetch strong prices. |
e-tron / Q4 e-tron / e-tron GT | 2,085-2,340 | 290-430 | 560-950 | Lithium-ion battery pack adds weight and salvage premium. Intact battery in good condition adds GBP 200-500 to base offer. |
RS3 / RS4 / RS5 / RS6 / RS7 | 1,580-1,970 | 215-360 | 650-1,600+ | Performance parts from DAZA, TFKF, CZGB, and CWUD engine families fetch very high used prices. Salvage almost always pays more than scrap for RS models. |

Should You Scrap Your Audi or Sell It for Salvage?
Updated: February 2026
Scrap is the right choice when... | Salvage pays more when... |
EA888 timing chain has jumped and caused valve damage | Engine runs despite fault -- DSG issue or suspension failure |
3.0 TDI timing belt has snapped and destroyed the engine | Fault is structural, cosmetic, or trim-related |
Category B insurance write-off (crush-only designation) | Category S or N write-off where parts retain full market value |
Catalytic converter has been stolen or removed | RS or S model with performance engine intact |
Fire or flood damage throughout the vehicle | e-tron or Q4 e-tron with battery pack in working condition |

Enter your reg. The quoting system checks both scrap and salvage routes simultaneously and presents the higher of the two values automatically. You do not need to decide in advance.
If your Audi is subject to a hire purchase or PCP finance agreement, the finance company holds legal ownership of the vehicle. You cannot legally scrap or sell the car until the outstanding finance is settled in full. Obtain a settlement figure from your lender, pay it, and get written confirmation before booking collection. A personal loan not secured against the car is different — in that case you already hold legal title.
Scrap or Salvage?
Scrap It When...
- 1.0 EcoBoost wet belt failed (blocked oil pump)
- 1.6 TDCi timing belt snapped (engine bent)
- Transit TDCi engine seized from belt failure
- Category B insurance write-off (crush-only)
- Catalytic converter stolen or removed
Salvage Pays More When...
- Engine runs despite PowerShift DPS6 fault
- Post-2019 chain EcoBoost model (fault not engine)
- Transit with EcoBlue chain engine (gearbox issue)
- Focus ST or Fiesta ST with engine running
- Mustang Mach-E with battery intact
Enter your reg. The system simultaneously prices both scrap and salvage routes and presents the higher value.

Is There an Audi Scrappage Scheme in 2026?
There is no active Audi manufacturer scrappage scheme in 2026. The last Audi scheme — the ‘Make the Switch’ e-tron offer — expired on 2 October 2023. It provided discounts of GBP 2,000 to GBP 5,000 on new electric Audi models for owners trading in any internal combustion vehicle. It has not been reinstated.
The 2023 Make the Switch scheme was aimed at boosting e-tron electric vehicle sales rather than operating as a traditional scrappage scheme. It did not require the trade-in vehicle to be scrapped — it could be a part-exchange in any condition. It could be combined with London’s ULEZ scrappage scheme for an additional GBP 2,000, bringing total potential savings to GBP 13,000 on an e-tron GT quattro. The offer ended on 2 October 2023 and has not returned.
Location-based clean air zone schemes remain available for eligible owners:

How much is an Audi A3 worth as scrap?
An Audi A3 (8P, 8V, or 8Y generation) is worth GBP 155 to GBP 280 for scrap and GBP 290 to GBP 480 for salvage in early 2026. The A3 is the most scrapped Audi in the UK, making up around 35% of all Audi scrap volumes. National collector data shows an average scrap price of GBP 177 across all A3 variants. Enter your reg for a live guaranteed price specific to your model.
What is the most scrapped Audi in the UK?
The Audi A3 and A4 are jointly the most scrapped Audis in the UK, each accounting for approximately 35% of all Audi scrap volumes according to national scrap comparison data. The A6 follows at around 12%. The A3 is the UK's best-selling Audi historically, which is why it dominates scrap volumes. Popular scrapped model years are 2005 to 2008, which are now approaching or past 18 years of age.
Is there an Audi scrappage scheme in 2026?
No. The last Audi scheme -- the 'Make the Switch' e-tron offer -- ended on 2 October 2023. It provided GBP 2,000 to GBP 5,000 off new electric Audi models for owners trading in any internal combustion vehicle. It has not been reinstated. Location-based schemes in London, Birmingham, and Scotland remain available to eligible residents. For all other owners, scrapping through a licensed ATF returns the best value without eligibility restrictions.
Can I scrap an Audi without a V5C logbook?
Yes. You can scrap an Audi without a V5C as long as you can demonstrate legal ownership through other documentation. The ATF can still process the vehicle and issue a Certificate of Destruction. You should still notify the DVLA to remove the vehicle from your name and stop road tax liability. Contact us before booking collection if your V5C is lost or outstanding.
What are Audi RS and S models worth for salvage?
Audi RS and S models should almost always be assessed for salvage rather than scrap. Performance engine parts from the RS3 (DAZA engine), RS4/RS5 (TFKF 2.9 biturbo), RS6/RS7 (CWUD 4.0 V8 biturbo), and S3/S4/S5 carry strong used market values. An RS6 salvage quote can exceed the scrap price by GBP 800 to GBP 1,500 or more. Enter your reg and the system compares both routes automatically.
Does the 2.0 TFSI timing chain fault affect scrap value?
No. An Audi with a jumped EA888 timing chain is still accepted for scrap or salvage. The timing chain fault codes P0016 and P0017 indicate camshaft-crankshaft correlation failure. If the engine has seized or suffered internal damage from valve contact, the vehicle is valued for scrap on weight and catalytic converter. If the engine turns over and the fault is limited to the chain and tensioner, a salvage buyer may still offer above the scrap rate to rebuild it.
Can I scrap an Audi that is on finance?
Not until the finance is fully settled. Under a hire purchase or PCP agreement, the finance company legally owns the vehicle until all payments are made. You cannot legally scrap, sell, or transfer ownership until the outstanding balance is cleared. Contact your lender for a settlement figure, pay it, and obtain written confirmation the agreement is closed. A personal unsecured loan not secured against the vehicle is different -- in that case you already own the car outright.
How much is an Audi Q5 worth for scrap?
An Audi Q5 (FY generation) is worth GBP 230 to GBP 370 for scrap and GBP 410 to GBP 630 for salvage in early 2026. The quattro transfer case components, 3.0 TDI engine, and S tronic gearbox are all in demand from independent VAG specialists. Q5 with an intact drivetrain should always be assessed for salvage before committing to a scrap price -- the premium over scrap can be GBP 200 to GBP 300.
