We only pass electric and hybrid vehicles to licensed buyers equipped to isolate, store and recycle high-voltage batteries. Damaged cars are collected on a recovery truck, never towed, and the battery is checked and stored apart from other vehicles at the yard.

Before collection
Unplug it, leave it in park, and tell us about any warning lights, smells or swelling. If the battery is smoking or hissing, keep clear and call 999 first.

Pick a collection day
Home, work or garage. Damaged cars get a recovery truck at no charge.
STEP 3
Driver checks and loads
Matches what you told us? Price unchanged. Photo ID, keys and charging cables.
STEP 4
Paid, DVLA told
Same-day payment by bank transfer. Certificate of Destruction emailed if it is scrapped.
Electric and hybrid questions
The battery's degraded. Is it still worth selling?
Yes. Low-range packs still have recyclable value, and the motor and electronics are priced separately.
It's been written off. Can you take it?
Cat S and Cat N, yes. Tell us where the damage is and add photos; damaged packs go to a specialist yard.
It's still on finance or PCP
We settle with the finance company from the price and pay you the balance.
Is a hybrid priced like an EV?
