How much is my Jeep worth for scrap?
A Jeep Renegade is typically worth £180 to £280 for scrap. A Jeep Compass is typically worth £290 to £520 for scrap. A Jeep Cherokee is typically worth £290 to £520 for scrap. Newer or damaged Jeeps are often worth more for their parts, from £800 to £4,000+. Your price is based on the car itself, not just its weight, and a Jeep that does not run or has failed its MOT is still bought.
Jeeps are big, heavy 4x4s, so they usually scrap at the top of our price range, and a Wrangler or newer Grand Cherokee is often worth more for its parts.

Why do Jeep owners scrap their cars?
Diesel engine problems
Diesel Jeeps can suffer injector, turbo and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve faults, which are expensive to put right.
Electrical faults
Warning lights, central locking and sensor faults are common complaints on older models.
Rust
Older Cherokees and Wranglers can rust on the chassis, sills and around the suspension mounts.
Gearbox and 4x4 system faults
Automatic gearbox and transfer box repairs on a Jeep can run into thousands.
Should you scrap your Jeep or sell it?
| Your Jeep | Best option |
|---|---|
| Running, with a long MOT and no big faults | Selling it privately or part-exchanging it may get you more |
| Failed its MOT, or needs a repair that costs more than it is worth | Scrap it with us: free collection and same-day payment |
| Newer, or damaged in an accident, flood or fire | Sell it to us for salvage: the parts are worth far more than scrap |
| Not running, or off the road with a SORN | Scrap it with us: we collect it as it is |
Scrap or salvage?
Scrap means the car is too old or worn to be worth repairing, so it is taken apart, the reusable parts are sold and the rest is recycled. Salvage means the car still has valuable parts, or could be repaired, so it is worth more. Your quote tells you which applies to your Jeep and shows you the higher figure.
Is there a Jeep scrappage scheme?
We are not aware of a Jeep scrappage scheme running at the moment. Manufacturers and dealers sometimes run part-exchange offers on new cars, so it is worth asking your local dealer. If there is no offer, or you are not buying new, scrapping your Jeep with us usually gets you the most for it.

What you need to know before you scrap your Jeep
Every scrap car has to go to a licensed scrap yard. Our yards are dismantlers, licensed by the Environment Agency or its equivalent, so your Jeep is dealt with legally and the parts that can be reused are put to use. By law, scrap cars cannot be paid for in cash, so you are paid by bank transfer the same day.
Have your keys, your logbook (V5C) and photo ID ready when the driver arrives. We tell the DVLA the car has been scrapped, and within 7 days you get a Certificate of Destruction, the official proof it has gone. Any road tax you have paid is refunded automatically.
Jeep scrap questions
How much is my Jeep worth for scrap?
Most Jeeps we buy are worth between £180 and £520 for scrap, depending on the model and its condition. Newer or damaged Jeeps can be worth £800 to £4,000+ for their parts. Enter your reg and postcode for your exact price.
Will you buy a Jeep that does not run or has failed its MOT?
Yes. We buy every Jeep as it is, whether it runs or not, has failed its MOT or has been off the road with a SORN. Collection is free.
Do you buy Jeeps with faults like diesel engine problems?
Yes. Diesel Jeeps can suffer injector, turbo and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve faults, which are expensive to put right. We price your Jeep on its parts and weight, so a big repair bill does not stop us buying it.
Is there a Jeep scrappage scheme?
We are not aware of one running at the moment. Dealers sometimes run part-exchange offers on new cars, so it is worth asking. If you are not buying new, scrapping with us usually gets you the most for your Jeep.
Is my Jeep worth more for parts than scrap?
Often, yes, if it is newer or has been damaged. Your quote already takes this into account, so you will see the higher figure.
Can I scrap my Jeep without the logbook (V5C)?
Yes. Have photo ID and proof of address ready instead, and we will tell the DVLA for you. It does not change your price.
How will I be paid for my Jeep?
By bank transfer, the same day it is collected. By law scrap cars cannot be paid for in cash, so be wary of anyone who offers it.
What happens to my Jeep after it is collected?
Our yards are dismantlers, so the parts that can be reused are sold and the rest is recycled. We tell the DVLA for you and you get a Certificate of Destruction, the official proof the car has gone, within 7 days.
