How much is my Lexus worth for scrap?
A Lexus CT 200h is typically worth £180 to £280 for scrap. A Lexus IS is typically worth £180 to £280 for scrap. A Lexus GS is typically worth £230 to £400 for scrap. Newer or damaged Lexus cars are often worth more for their parts, from £800 to £4,000+. Your price is based on the car itself, not just its weight, and a Lexus that does not run or has failed its MOT is still bought.
Most Lexus models are hybrids. The hybrid battery and the catalytic converter both hold value, so a Lexus often scraps for more than a similar sized car.
Lexus scrap and salvage prices by model

| IS | Medium car | £180 to £280 |

Why do Lexus owners scrap their cars?
Hybrid battery wear
After many years the hybrid battery can lose capacity. Replacing it is expensive, but the old battery still has value.
Catalytic converter theft
Lexus hybrids, especially the RX, are a common target for catalytic converter theft. Replacing one can cost more than an older car is worth.
Age and mileage
Lexus cars are very reliable, so many we collect are simply very old or have very high mileage.
Accident damage
Repairs are costly, so newer accident-damaged models are often written off and sold for parts.
Should you scrap your Lexus or sell it?
| Your Lexus | Best option |
|---|---|
| Running, with a long MOT and no big faults | Selling it privately or part-exchanging it may get you more |
| Failed its MOT, or needs a repair that costs more than it is worth | Scrap it with us: free collection and same-day payment |
| Newer, or damaged in an accident, flood or fire | Sell it to us for salvage: the parts are worth far more than scrap |
| Not running, or off the road with a SORN | Scrap it with us: we collect it as it is |
Scrap or salvage?
Scrap means the car is too old or worn to be worth repairing, so it is taken apart, the reusable parts are sold and the rest is recycled. Salvage means the car still has valuable parts, or could be repaired, so it is worth more. Your quote tells you which applies to your Lexus and shows you the higher figure.
Is there a Lexus scrappage scheme?
We are not aware of a Lexus scrappage scheme running at the moment. Manufacturers and dealers sometimes run part-exchange offers on new cars, so it is worth asking your local dealer. If there is no offer, or you are not buying new, scrapping your Lexus with us usually gets you the most for it.

What you need to know before you scrap your Lexus
Every scrap car has to go to a licensed scrap yard. Our yards are dismantlers, licensed by the Environment Agency or its equivalent, so your Lexus is dealt with legally and the parts that can be reused are put to use. By law, scrap cars cannot be paid for in cash, so you are paid by bank transfer the same day.
Have your keys, your logbook (V5C) and photo ID ready when the driver arrives. We tell the DVLA the car has been scrapped, and within 7 days you get a Certificate of Destruction, the official proof it has gone. Any road tax you have paid is refunded automatically.
Lexus scrap questions
How much is my Lexus worth for scrap?
Most Lexus cars we buy are worth between £180 and £520 for scrap, depending on the model and its condition. Newer or damaged Lexus cars can be worth £800 to £4,000+ for their parts. Enter your reg and postcode for your exact price.
Will you buy a Lexus that does not run or has failed its MOT?
Yes. We buy every Lexus as it is, whether it runs or not, has failed its MOT or has been off the road with a SORN. Collection is free.
Do you buy Lexus cars with faults like hybrid battery wear?
Yes. After many years the hybrid battery can lose capacity. We price your Lexus on its parts and weight, so a big repair bill does not stop us buying it.
Is there a Lexus scrappage scheme?
We are not aware of one running at the moment. Dealers sometimes run part-exchange offers on new cars, so it is worth asking. If you are not buying new, scrapping with us usually gets you the most for your Lexus.
Is my Lexus worth more for parts than scrap?
Often, yes, if it is newer or has been damaged. Your quote already takes this into account, so you will see the higher figure.
Can I scrap my Lexus without the logbook (V5C)?
Yes. Have photo ID and proof of address ready instead, and we will tell the DVLA for you. It does not change your price.
How will I be paid for my Lexus?
By bank transfer, the same day it is collected. By law scrap cars cannot be paid for in cash, so be wary of anyone who offers it.
What happens to my Lexus after it is collected?
Our yards are dismantlers, so the parts that can be reused are sold and the rest is recycled. We tell the DVLA for you and you get a Certificate of Destruction, the official proof the car has gone, within 7 days.
